Gary Philips

Gary Phillips was born in England and has been shooting sporting clays for 31 years. In 1991, he moved to the US to make a living as a shooting instructor and competing in tournaments. In 1991, Gary won the prestigious British open sporting clays championship, beating 1540 other competitors. The same year he came to the US to compete in shooting tournaments and had the highest score at the USSCA National championships, followed by a win at the Canadian open.

He has also won the Portuguese open and the Channel Islands championships. Before coming to the US to live he shot for the England shooting team 7 times, eventually becoming captain of the team. In 1995, He won 5 major shoots, starting with the Seminole cup, then the World English sporting championship, followed by the US Open, Zone 2 championship and finally the US Winter championships.

Gary is one of the few people to have scored a perfect 100x100 at sporting clays, he has actually done this twice. Gary has been sponsored by Krieghoff for 17 years and has been sponsored by B&P for three years, he considers himself very lucky to be sponsored by two of the best shotgun and shotgun shell manufacturers in the world. His favorite shells are the Sporting clays 32 gram # 71/2 shot and the Legend 32 gram # 8 shot, for FITASC he prefers the F2 Mach 1oz # 71/2 shot.

In the 2006 shooting season Gary was Runner up at the NJ State shoot and was HOA in 2007. Other notable wins in  2006/ 2007 are 2007 NJ open , Orvis cup, Delaware river classic, Firecracker 100,  Participated in the Wild goose shoot, Thanks giving shoot out, Big seafood blast and runner up at the 2007 Zone 2 shoot. In 2007 Gary became a US citizen and made the all American sporting clays team on his first attempt.  

Winner of the 2008 Firecracker Shoot at Pintail Point! Gary Phillips has now won a total of 85 guns from all of his shooting accomplishments.
